Veteran freight locomotive now leads passenger trains

On Friday morning, an electric locomotive named after Zhu De, China's past military leader, left Harbin West Railway Station, beginning its new journey to lead passenger trains.
In the past 71 years, the locomotive has been safely driven for 9 million kilometers. Now the fifth-generation locomotive has transitioned from original steam to become a high-speed electric engine. It has bid farewell to its history of pulling freight trains, embarking on a new journey to serve passenger trains.
