ROME - Ilka Stuhec of Slovenia finished atop in the World Cup downhill in Val Gardena on Tuesday, winning her first title after missing all of last season due to an injury.

The Slovenian skier clocked one minute and 22.81 seconds in the final, 0.14 seconds ahead of home favorite Nicol Delago. Austria's Ramona Siebenhofer ranked third in 1:23.32.

Stuhec tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee during a crash in training on the glacier in Pitztal, Austria, which kept her away from competitions for the whole last season, including the Pyeongchang Olympics.

The 28-year-old was the gold medalist at the World Championship in St. Moritz, Switzerland in the 2016-2017 season and also won the season-long World Cup downhill title.
