The education authority has asked universities to conduct online teaching for foreign students who cannot return to China due to the country's temporary entry restriction measures, a senior official with the Ministry of Education said on Tuesday.
The ministry also has asked schools to provide academic support to students in their senior year and assist them in completing their graduation thesis through online guidance, said Liu Jin, director of the ministry's International Cooperation and Exchange Department.
Meanwhile, the ministry will assist foreign students who plan to suspend or quit school, or extend their study period, go through relevant procedures, she added.
China recently took temporary measures that restrict the entry of foreigners with valid Chinese visas or residence permits to stem the increasing risk of imported infection cases from abroad.
