Mainland records three new coronavirus cases
The mainland reported three new infections of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 82,929, the National Health Commission said on Thursday.
All the new infections were local, with two in Liaoning province and the other one in Jilin province.
According to the commission, six people were discharged after recovering on the same day while the number of patients in severe condition rose by one.
To date, the death toll on Chinese mainland remains 4,633. Neither new death nor new suspected case was reported on Wednesday.
In the past 24 hours, 387 were discharged from medical observation.
The commission also revealed that 738,262 close contacts had been traced as of Wednesday midnight.
Meanwhile, another 5291 close contacts are still under medical observation.
As of Wednesday, the mainland reported 12 new asymptomatic cases, along with 49 discharged from medical observation.
So far, a total of 712 asymptomatic patients infected with the virus are still under medical observation, 36 of whom were detected from inbound arrivals, said the commission.
By Wednesday, 1,535 confirmed cases, including four deaths in Hong Kong, 45 confirmed cases in Macao, and 440 in Taiwan, including seven deaths, were recorded.
