China resolutely opposes 'Taiwan independence' activities

BEIJING -- China will resolutely oppose and deter any separatist activities seeking "Taiwan independence," said a government work report submitted Friday to the national legislature for deliberation.
The report said China will improve institutional arrangements, policies and measures to encourage cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation, deepen cross-Straits integrated development and protect the wellbeing of Taiwan compatriots.
