Shanxi ancestor worship ceremony to bring Chinese together

The 2020 cross-Straits folk ancestor worship ceremony will be held at the Yan Emperor Mausoleum in Gaoping, a county-level city in North China's Shanxi province on May 30, according to a press conference held in the county on May 18.
The annual worship ceremony -- hosted by the Chinese Yanhuang Culture Studies Association and organized by Shanxi Yan Emperor Culture Studies Association and the Gaoping Yan Emperor Culture Studies Association -- is themed around closer cross-Straits ties and blessings for China.

Due to current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the event will integrate offline activities and online livestreaming and broadcasts to let cross-Straits people and overseas Chinese around the world honor their ancestors and pray for blessings.
This will be done through the online ancestor worship and praying platform launched at the press conference.
This year's ancestor worship ceremony will also invite experts to discuss and explore culture of the Yan Emperor, a legendary pioneer of ancient Chinese agriculture.
