Construction bids are being solicited for an express railway line linking Xiongan New Area in Hebei province with Beijing's Daxing International Airport to shorten the journey between the new area and the capital.
The line, to be designed for speeds over 160 kilometers per hour, will mean a trip from Xiongan to the airport will take half an hour, according to an announcement from the new area's public resource trading service platform.
The line, designated R1, will be 85.75 km long and have seven stations.
Another transit line, a high-speed railway linking Xiongan with Beijing, is already under construction. That railway will also cut the journey between the two to about half an hour.
