Yao Foundation to promote development of physical education in North China
BEIJING - The Dongcheng District People's Government of Beijing Municipality together with the Yao Foundation signed an agreement recently to jointly promote the development of physical education in some regions of Hebei and Inner Mongolia.
Those regions include Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City of Hebei province, Huade County and Aershan city of Inner Mongolia autonomous region. A total of 46 primary schools will benefit from the program.
According to Ye Dawei, the secretary general of the Yao Foundation, the cooperation between the two sides will lasts for three years with the Foundation investing over 1 million yuan ($141,043) on sports facilities, courses and competition organization. Dongcheng District will provide 800,000 yuan in subsidies for voluntary and local physical education teachers.
Due to a shortage of experienced PE teachers in those regions, a training project will also be launched under the cooperation between the Yao Foundation and Dongcheng District.
