Explosion at chemical factory kills three
Three people died in a chemical plant explosion in Anda, Heilongjiang province early Saturday. The death toll increased to three after two missing people were found and confirmed dead, local authorities said. The accident happened around 12:46 am Saturday in a workshop of a chemical company in Anda. It also left four people injured, including two seriously, the city government said. The fire caused by the blast was put out at 3:50 am. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

City officials present annual work reports live
Senior officials from 38 government departments in Qingdao, Shandong province, appeared live online over the weekend to present summaries of their performances over the past year. Three thousand residents were invited to review and grade their work reports and submit suggestions. This is the 12th year that Qingdao has required officials to make such presentations. Local officials said the event aims to increase transparency and encourage public scrutiny.
