A Chinese mainland spokeswoman on Friday said the mainland will resolutely crack down on all kinds of "Taiwan independence" activities after Taiwan region opened a "representative office" in Lithuania on Thursday.

Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, voiced opposition for countries that have diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, to develop any official relationship with the Taiwan region.

In an attempt to seek "independence", the Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan has carried out acts of undermining the one-China principle and splitting the country under various excuses in the international community, Zhu said.

Its tactics include setting up institutions in some countries, changing relevant names, infiltrating dignitaries of some countries, weaving lies and spreading "Taiwan independence" remarks, she said.

Zhu urged all countries to abide by the one-China principle, handle Taiwan question carefully, and not go further on the wrong road of supporting and conniving with "Taiwan independence".
