Xinjiang students enjoying after-school activities

A middle school in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region offers various after-school courses for students.
Students at the Tekes County No 1 Middle School in Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture can learn embroidery, paper cutting, painting, musical instruments, singing and soccer.
The school, built with the assistance of the Jiangning district of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, opened in September 2019. It has more than 2,000 students from various ethnic groups.
