COP15 president calls for joint efforts to advance biodiversity protection

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. Biodiversity lays the foundation for human survival and development. However, the global biodiversity crisis is worsening and about one-fourth of species face the threat of extinction.
In an exclusive interview with China Daily, Huang Runqiu, president of the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and China's minister of ecology and environment, called for the international community to join hands to advance biodiversity protection.
