In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and France, four Dongyang woodcarving masterpieces from Jinhua, Zhejiang province, carried messages of unity and friendship to Paris, France as international gifts. 

These remarkable pieces were created by Hu Xianmin, a renowned Chinese woodcarver from Dongyang, a county-level city in Jinhua.

One of the works is a new creation by Hu tailored for the Paris Paralympic Games. It was presented by the Chinese Paralympic delegation to the Paris Olympic Committee on Aug 29.

The artwork features iris flowers and swans, symbolizing elegance and grace. It also pays homage to the spirit of sportsmanship through its frame design inspired by the Paris Paralympics medal and the slogan "Ouvrons grand les Jeux" on its pedestal.

The other three works were presented to the Chinese Embassy in France and UNESCO on Sept 3.

Furthermore, Hu and his daughters presented six Dongyang woodcarving works at the exhibition, Beautiful Crafts Workshop Blooming in Paris, which showcased cultural and creative works by women with disabilities at the China Cultural Center in Paris from Sept 3 to 5.
