12th China Police Equipment Exhibition set to open in Beijing

The 12th China International Exhibition on Police Equipment will be held in Beijing on Wednesday, attracting participation by both domestic and foreign companies.
Yan Fei, head of the equipment and finance bureau of Ministry of Public Security, said at a news conference on Monday that all booths at the exhibition, which is scheduled to last four days, are fully booked.
As many as 30 foreign companies will showcase their products, Yan said. The companies are from 11 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Finland and Spain, Yan said.
The exhibition will take place at the Shougang Convention and Exhibition Center, and will cover 64,000 square meters, 20 percent larger than the area of the previous exhibition, which was held two years ago, said Yu Bing, deputy head of the ministry's First Research Institute.
"This exhibition will display the cutting-edge technologies and advanced equipment represented by the latest generation of information technology, artificial intelligence and new materials," Yan said.
Robots that are able to patrol and scout in a complicated environment and protective equipment made with new, lightweight and high-strength materials will be on display, according to Yan.
Police delegations from other countries have also been invited to attend the event, Yan said.
"Through exchanges with advanced international companies and foreign police, we can draw on their advanced experience and technologies, and at the same time share with the world outstanding police equipment independently developed by China," she said.
