Global students share cultures with Chinese youth for mutual learning
Recently, a group of international students from the University of Science and Technology of China visited Yanzihe Experimental Middle School in Jinzhai county, Anhui province.
The 12 international students representing 11 countries each introduced the culture of their homeland to the Chinese rural students.
Their countries are Afghanistan, Belarus, Cambodia, France, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Many students from the rural middle school said it was their first time communicating with foreigners, and this exchange activity greatly helped them to understand other cultures better.
USTC has been dispatching teams to work in the mountainous county's Longma village, once a poverty-stricken area, since 2014.
The teams have also made an effort to promote the development of the entire Yanzihe township, which encompasses Longma village.
