China and South Africa strengthen defense ties at 10th meeting
The 10th meeting of the China-South Africa Defense Committee took place in Beijing on Tuesday, according to a news release from China's Ministry of National Defense on Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting was co-chaired by Jing Jianfeng, deputy chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, and Rudzani Maphwanya, Chief of the South African National Defence Force, the release said.
The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on international and regional situations, military exchanges, cooperation between China and South Africa, and other topics of mutual interest.
Both parties expressed commitment to further explore cooperation prospects, broadening cooperation areas, and enhancing levels of collaboration under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders.
They agreed to continuously enrich the all-round strategic cooperative partnership for the new era between China and South Africa, thereby making a positive contribution to maintaining international and regional security and stability, according to the release.
