Critical transport links have been reopened in two severely flooded counties in Chengde, Hebei province, accelerating rescue and recovery efforts.

In Xinglong county's Liudaohe township, the road to Wudaohe village was recovered on Wednesday.

Dozens of soldiers and 30 heavy machines worked through narrow terrain, first removing dangerous rocks, then coordinating excavators to repair the route overnight, according to a report by China Central Television.

Additionally, telecom service was resumed within three kilometers of Liudaohe village as repair crews followed the restored roads.

In Chengde's Luanping county, the fourth bridge leading to the landslide-hit Nantaizi Xigou village was repaired as of 10:30 pm on Wednesday. With its opening, all four bridges connecting Mayingzi Manchu township to Xigou village have resumed traffic.

Province-wide, 406 road sections have been restored, with 1,385 landslides and 1,152 mudflows cleared, according to the Hebei Transport Department as quoted by CCTV.
