Recovery efforts restore normalcy in Sanya post-Typhoon Kajiki
Sanya's disaster response team is prioritizing the restoration of power, water, communications and transport systems. Public transportation, including taxis and ride-hailing services, resumed operations by Monday morning, along with supermarkets, wet markets, and the airport.
Tourist attractions are also recovering, with the Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex and Atlantis Sanya Resort reopening on Monday afternoon. In addition, scenic spots are expected to resume operations on Tuesday, while 13 heavily damaged parks, including Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot (The End of Earth) and Luhuitou (Deer-Turn-Round) Park, will take two to three more days to clear debris and repair facilities, said Meng Xuyan, deputy director of the Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau.
