Michael Crook, chairman of the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives, said Japan's reported call for countries to skip China's Sept 3 commemorations has "dubious motives". Crook said it is equally important to unite the Japanese people to help prevent their government's "warmongering agenda" from succeeding.
Crook made the remarks in an interview with China Daily during a symposium at Peking University on Saturday, marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
