A Philippine government vessel deliberately collided with a Chinese Coast Guard ship on Tuesday morning in waters near China's Huangyan Island, responsibility for which lies entirely with the Philippine side, according to a spokesman for China's Coast Guard.
Gan Yu said in a statement that?the Philippines organized?more than 10 government vessels on Tuesday to illegally intrude?into the territorial waters of Huangyan Island in the South China Sea from multiple directions, prompting the Chinese side to take lawful control measures.
Gan stated that, in response to the illegal intrusion, the China Coast Guard took necessary control measures including?verbal warnings, route blocking and the use of water cannons.?At around 10 am, the Philippine government vessel 3014 ignored repeated warnings and deliberately collided with a China Coast Guard ship in an unprofessional and dangerous manner.
Gan emphasized that the?Philippines' deliberate act of infringement and provocation?is of a serious nature and the?full responsibility for the collision rests entirely with the Philippine side.
