Dancing Asia Beijing Workshop Fosters Cultural Exchange

The Dancing Asia workshop, recently held in Beijing, featured innovative artistic dialogues between Chinese and Korean dance institutions.
The Seoul Gyeonggi Dance Research Association, led by director Kim Mi-ran and artistic director Kim Yong-chul, presented contemporary adaptations of traditional Korean dance. Chinese choreographer Zheng Jie and his team, including dramaturge Yao Shuo, guqin artist Luo Chengwei and artistic adviser Li Mingming, showcased Eight Thousand Springs in an Instant, a creative fusion of martial arts, modern dance and traditional guqin music structured around China's 24 solar terms.
The event highlighted how traditional arts can evolve through cross-cultural innovation and mutual inspiration, demonstrating dance's unique ability to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries.
