In 1997, Iris Chang wrote The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II, leaving a precious historical record for future generations. Iris was only 36 when she passed away, but her words remain eternal. As her mother, Ying-Ying Chang, noted, "Words are the only way to preserve the essence of the soul.
