Xiangchao concludes with Yongzhou claiming championship
These scenes, widely shared on social media, drew international attention, with netizens abroad describing the support as "what every team dreams of".
Since its kickoff in September, the "Xiangchao" league has transcended the soccer pitch to become a significant economic catalyst. Prior to the final match, the league had attracted more than 2.3 million live spectators, generating a remarkable 36 billion yuan in associated consumption across a range of sectors — including catering, accommodation, and entertainment — according to official data from the province. With the event driving 11.359 billion yuan in cultural and leisure spending, it successfully converted sports enthusiasm into tangible economic activity.
One of the driving forces behind the league's immense energy is a vibrant cast of young talent. The sight of student athletes sprinting across the pitch has been a defining feature of the league, with 262 high school students making up 39.6 percent of all players. During the regular season, these young players netted 132 of the total 230 goals, accounting for an impressive 57.4 percent of all goals scored.
