Chongqing park becomes stage for captivating natural phenomenon
In recent days, the Locajoy Theme Park in Chongqing's Yongchuan district has become the stage for a captivating natural phenomenon. The gathering of resident and migratory birds has transformed the park into a vibrant tapestry of life, providing visitors with a unique chance to observe and understand the intricate dance of nature's cycles.
Around 100 migratory waterfowl, including the common pochard and ferruginous duck, have journeyed from northern regions to the park's Waterfowl Lake. They join nearly 300 resident birds, creating a dynamic avian community. Meanwhile, at a neighboring lake, over 300 visiting cormorants have arrived, mingling with the resident cormorants and pelicans to form a unique ecological tableau.
Park observers note that these wild ducks commence their southward migration as winter approaches, with January marking the peak of their congregation. As spring arrives, they embark on their return journey northward. The park's expansive, clear waters, abundant food resources, and the resident birds' acclimation to human activity offer an ideal wintering habitat for these visitors, allowing them to coexist harmoniously with the park's resident avian population.
To complement this natural phenomenon, the park has launched educational initiatives aimed at enhancing public awareness of migratory bird habits and conservation efforts. Information boards and designated bird-watching areas have been established, offering visitors insights into the fascinating world of migratory ducks and underscoring the importance of protecting these seasonal guests.
