Ex-Shanxi governor on trial for bribery

Jin Xiangjun, former governor of North China's Shanxi province, is being prosecuted on bribery charges, the country's top procuratorate said on Monday. Jin is accused of abusing his various positions, including his role as Shanxi governor, to seek profits for others and accept bribes involving money and valuables in "a huge amount". Jin was expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office in October.

Smart Dragon 3 deploys 10 satellites

China launched a Smart Dragon 3 carrier rocket on Sunday night off the coast of Haiyang in Shandong province, placing 10 satellites in space. The rocket blasted off at 11:49 pm from a launch service ship and soon deployed the satellites, the second group of in-orbit assets in the CentiSpace network, into their preset orbital positions, according to a news release by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, maker of the Smart Dragon 3 series. The Smart Dragon 3 is a solid-propellant rocket model with a height of 31 meters and a diameter of 2.65 meters. It can carry a liftoff weight of 140 metric tons.

Guidelines address OpenClaw risks

Chinese regulators have issued new guidelines to help users safely operate the open-source AI agent OpenClaw. The guidelines, jointly released by the National Computer Network Emergency Response Coordination Center of China and the Cybersecurity Association of China on Sunday, provide security recommendations for individual users, enterprises, cloud service providers and developers. According to the guidelines, individual users are advised to install OpenClaw only on dedicated devices, virtual machines or containers with proper isolation. They are also urged to avoid installing it on everyday work computers or running it with administrator or super-user privileges.

Global high-quality journal list released

China on Saturday published a high-quality journal list in the fields of medicine and life sciences, independently compiled by domestic institutions, offering a Chinese perspective on global academic journal evaluation. The journal list was jointly released by Dongbi Technology Data Co, in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. A total of 4,027 medical journals and 3,064 life sciences journals were chosen to feature on the list.
