A delegation from Asti, Italy, recently visited Taiyuan, Shanxi province, to promote deep exchanges and cooperation between China and Italy across trade, culture, and education.

Yang Jicheng, chairman of the CPPCC Taiyuan Municipal Committee, expressed hope that the two cities would further expand practical cooperation, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the well-being of people in both regions and strengthening the foundation of their friendship.

Berzano Renato, a councilor from Asti, noted that Asti and Taiyuan share complementary strengths and visions for urban development, modern agriculture, and the integration of cultural tourism. He expressed his desire to use this visit to deepen pragmatic cooperation in key areas and to uphold the long-standing traditional friendship between the two nations.

The delegation toured Jinci Temple in Taiyuan, where Berzano Giuliana Maria Rosa, a middle school teacher, said that the temple is "living history", offering a profound insight into the unique charm of ancient Chinese architecture. "I plan to bring my experiences and insights from this trip into the classroom to inspire students' interest in Chinese culture," she said.

Taiyuan and Asti established a friendly cooperative relationship in 2024, marking a new chapter in bilateral exchanges. In 2025, a Taiyuan delegation visited Asti to hold in-depth discussions with the Asti government on enhancing trade exchanges and promoting cultural interactions.
