After the open-door discussion of his delegation to the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Wang told the press that China Mobile has succeeded in tests of the third-generation mobile networks in eight cities in China.

Because of being listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as a red chip company, Wang said, the process of returning to the A-share market is a little complicated.

He also said that the third-generation mobile networks under construction in the eight cities are solely based on the TD-SCDMA technology, which was developed indigenously.

China promises to provide the third-generation mobile networks to cities where 2008 Olympic events would be held, including Beijing, Shanghai and Qingdao.
