Energy: Chalco, China rivals mull stake in Fortescue

Aluminum Corp of China (Chalco) has joined rival Chinese steelmakers seeking a stake in Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, Australia's new iron ore exporter, the Australian reported, without saying where it got the information.

Chalco may seek part of Harbinger Capital Partners' 16 percent stake in Fortescue, the newspaper said. Baosteel Group Corp and Sinosteel Corp are also pursuing a stake, the Australian said.
