HONG KONG -- The gold price in Hong Kong went up HK$82 to open at HK$16,450 per tael on Friday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.
The price is equivalent to $1,781.05 a troy ounce, up $8.88 at the latest exchange rate of one US dollar against HK$7.753.
