China's first seawater desalination program, using wind energy, will go into service next month in Dafeng, Jiangsu province.

A large-scale wind turbine, which will be installed within 10 days, can provide 40,000 KWh of electricity every day for the program that will have a daily output of 10,000 tons, Xinhua Daily reported.

The fresh water produced will be made into bottled water, and will also be provided to Dafeng port and industrial enterprises in neighboring areas.
