Vow to ban deceptive ads ( 2003-09-01 10:54) (China Daily)
Fifteen Shanghai media companies, 12 medical institutes and nine advertising agencies made a joint public announcement on Thursday, vowing that they will never publish ads for products claiming to cure particular diseases, reports Oriental Morning Post. Ads for medical products promising 100 per cent cures for cancer, AIDS or other currently incurable diseases, including those boasting secret ingredients, will be banned from publication.
