Attendants to the South Central Provincial Party Newspaper Work Conference visited Dehong from October 28 to October 30.
The group first paid a visit to the Xuanfu Department of Nandian, a tourist attraction in Lianghe County, and Wanding Bridge, an anti-Japanese war site, and inspected the project of building Dehong into “bridgehead gold port” of Southwest China.
Then officials from the Dehong Prefectural Committee Office and the Publicity Department of Dehong showed them around the Dehong Hogood Coffee Company, whose representative explained the planting, processing and sales of coffee and the firm’s performance to the delegates.
The delegates showed interest in the Yunnan arabica coffee produced in Dehong, hometown of coffee in China, and spoke highly of the local government’s achievements in economic and social development, ethnic harmony, stability in border areas, port construction, etc.
The work conference was organized by the Yunnan Daily Press Group. Leaders and directors of the Reporters Division and Reporters Center from ten provincial party newspapers, including the People’s Daily and Yunnan Daily, also attended the conference.
