Fuzhou to link closer with Pingnan

A highway that links Pingnan and Gutian in Fujian province will shorten the trip between Fuzhou and Pingnan to one hour by the end of 2018.

It now takes at least three hours from Fuzhou to Pingnan through Shenyang-Haikou highway and Fujian provincial road 303.

The highway will start construction in 2015 and be completed by the end of 2018. It is slated to be 53.57 kilometers long with four lanes in two directions at a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The Pingnan-Gutian highway will reduce the time of the Fuzhou-Pingnan trip to one hour, by connecting with another highway between Fuzhou and Gutian, which is expected to come into operation in September 2015.
