A group of journalists across the Taiwan Straits came to Pingdingshan to cover the Central Plain Economic Zone from April 9 to 10. A welcome dinner was held on April 9.
At the dinner, Duan Junhai, a member of the standing committee of the Pingdingshan municipality and minister of the United Front Work Department of Pingdingshan, welcomed the group on behalf of the city and briefed reporters about Pingdingshan.
During the visit, journalists interviewed representatives of Foquan Temple (Buddha Spring Temple) and Zhong Ping Energy Chemical Group.
During the past several years, exchanges between Pingdingshan and Taiwan have been enhanced. In July 2009, Pingdingshan dispatched a visiting group to display “the central plain culture” in Taiwan, and held several trade and tourism fairs on the island. The Cross-Straits Medical Tourism Forum Industry launched on April 1is serving as another bridge between Pingdingshan and Taiwan. .
