Siming district, Xiamen, is currently home to over 2,000 Taiwan residents. The district is committed to providing more considerate services for Taiwan compatriots and actively promoting cross-Strait economic, cultural, and social exchanges. It is striving to build itself into the first stop and primary home for Taiwan compatriots and businesses coming to Xiamen.

Siming district has long been committed to building a cross-Strait shared economy and common market by optimizing the business environment for Taiwan enterprises.

From January to June, Siming district attracted over 50 Taiwan-funded enterprises with a total investment of nearly 100 million yuan ($13.9 billion), many of which were Taiwan semiconductor companies.

Siming district has established one national-level and five provincial-level entrepreneurship and employment bases for Taiwan youth, attracting and supporting over 1,200 young Taiwan talents to the district.

The district offers policies such as startup funding, rental subsidies for business venues, and individual housing allowances for Taiwan youth, creating favorable conditions for them to pursue their dreams.

Xiamen and Taiwan share a common language and similar customs. Over the years, Siming district has strengthened cross-Strait grassroots exchanges, including in clan ties and folk beliefs, while organizing cultural events to promote their shared Chinese cultural heritage.

From January to June, the district hosted over 80 cross-Strait exchange events, including more than 50 grassroots exchange activities such as the Qingming ancestral worship at Jiangxia Hall and the Town God worship ceremony.
