The faculty and students at the Ocean University of China in Qingdao, Shandong province debuted the first original campus play on Tuesday, with the title named after Wen Shengchang, a professor at the university who devoted his life to the country's maritime endeavors.
The play was created in honor of the spirit of educators and scientists and to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, said the university.
It portrays the life of Wen, who led the university's physical oceanography department to meet the needs of the nation, gradually achieving a world-class level to address the country's deficiencies and challenges. Wen was also an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
