Xizang's peach village thrives on eco-tourism boom
Kala village in Nyingchi, Xizang autonomous region, has seen rapid development in recent years, combining ecological preservation with rural revitalization. Once known for its wild peach forests, the village has improved infrastructure and raised living standards through a thriving collective economy.
"For our village, the Peach Blossom Scenic Area is our main source of income," said Tseyang, a resident of Kala. "In 2024, our family earned over 130,000 yuan. I also run a small guesthouse, and in the peach blossom season, more guests arrive."
By 2024, per capita disposable income surpassed 40,000 yuan ($5,583), with average household dividends exceeding 100,000 yuan, according to the village.
