In an effort to ensure public health by unleashing the innovative potential and development opportunities of new-generation information technology in the reform of intelligent healthcare security and further promote innovation in the pharmaceutical industry, the award ceremony for the National Intelligent Healthcare Security Contest 2025 took place in Shanghai's Pudong New Area on Monday.

The contest was jointly organized by the National Healthcare Security Administration and the Shanghai municipal government. Gong Zheng, deputy secretary of the Shanghai municipal Party committee and mayor of Shanghai, and Zhang Ke, Party secretary and director of the National Healthcare Security Administration, attended the ceremony.

Zhang highlighted the competition's success in attracting innovative talents from various sectors, demonstrating the immense potential and broad prospects of empowering industries with healthcare security data. He emphasized that healthcare security departments will continue to explore and cultivate high-value application scenarios of healthcare security data, aligning more precisely with the needs of public welfare, governance enhancement, technological innovation, and industrial development.

Chen Yujian, deputy mayor of Shanghai, stated that the city places great importance on healthcare security work and the development and utilization of data elements, and fully supports healthcare security departments in exploring the compliant and orderly development of healthcare security data to empower multiple industries. He also said that Shanghai will provide transformation and validation services for outstanding projects emerging from the contest, facilitating their broader and faster implementation nationwide.

Launched in August, the contest attracted more than 800 teams from across the country. It featured 11 fields, including one regarding innovative drug research and development, post-marketing real-world research, comprehensive value evaluation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The others included healthcare, as well as financial insurance and platform economy. Ultimately, 178 teams from across the nation stood out, winning first, second, and third prizes.

At the award ceremony, representatives from Bank of Shanghai, Zhangjiang Group, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology's Industrial Internet Innocenter Shanghai, and China Telecom Quantum Group signed cooperation intentions with the winning teams.
