A delegation of members from 57 countries visited Shanghai on April 28 to learn about China's modernization efforts firsthand.

During a visit to the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan from Pakistan said, "Today we see the progress of China, the uplifting of the Human Development Index, and the great achievements, whether in technology, poverty alleviation, or economic growth."

Raymond Na'Anlep Delmut from Nigeria said he was inspired by how the revolutionary process helped shape China into the modern society it is today.

The delegates, from 57 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, are participants in Peking University's Dongfang Scholarships Program.

This high-level exchange program for senior officials, experts, and business leaders from developing countries offers participants an opportunity to gain firsthand insights into China's development and governance practices through theoretical courses and field research across the country.

Delmut expressed his admiration for Shanghai, saying, "It is one of the most beautiful cities in China. It's very vibrant, lively, and also hospitable."

Felipe Hurtado Perez, an Ecuadorian who had visited Shanghai 21 years ago, said it was amazing to see how much the city had achieved and how rapidly it had progressed over the past two decades.

Hend Elmahly Mahmoud Sultan from Egypt said China's growing global appeal was reflected in the fact that many people around the world wanted to come to the country to learn about its experience in economic development, security, daily life, and technology.
