Beijing Capital International Airport to see over 1 million passenger trips during holiday
Passenger flows during the holiday are expected to be higher than on ordinary days, with most travelers heading out for leisure trips or family reunions. Popular domestic destinations include Shanghai, Chengdu in Sichuan province, as well as Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong province, while Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore and Bangkok are among the popular overseas destinations.
The holiday rush comes as the airport continues to expand its route network and improve services for international passengers.
Kong Xin, aviation development manager with the airport's aviation business department, said the airport's network now covers more than 200 destinations in over 50 countries.
"Among them, more than 90 are international and regional destinations, including 52 intercontinental destinations, the highest number among airports on the Chinese mainland," Kong said.
Since the beginning of this year, favorable policies aimed at facilitating cross-border travel, combined with stronger holiday demand, have helped support steady growth in the airport's international and regional passenger traffic, the airport said.
